Wood Species

After selecting the type of wood flooring you like best, the next step is choosing which species and grade of wood you prefer. Wood is rated on a grading scale. The grades are as follows:

Select Grade has the least amount of color variations and character. You will get little or no knots in select wood. Select Grade Wood Flooring from Laciudaddel Wood Floors is shown below.

No 1 Common Grade will show more of the natural character of the wood. You will see color variations and pronounced grain patterns. It includes a mix of heart and sap wood. You will get occasional knots in 1 common wood.

No 2 Common (Character Grade) will show dramatic variations in color and character. You will see obvious color variations. It includes a mix of heart and sap wood. You will get many knots in 2 common wood, it is uniquely manufactured to salvage the beauty of knots.
