Sand & Finish
Sanding and Finishing the wood floor completes the installation process. Laciudaddel Wood Floors can handle both of these steps for you.
As an option, we have a Dust Containment System (DCS) This unit sits outside your home during the sanding & finishing
process and connects all work tools to the 27 horsepower vacuum. DCS helps ensure a
98% dust free environment – keeping your home
clean as well
fume free, and ensuring that debris doesn’t end up affecting your finish. We are the only company in Mid-Michigan
that offers this service.
With regard to the finishing process, we take pride in going above and beyond most wood flooring contractors. We apply
three coats
of
Bona Kemi Traffic (Commercial Grade) finish on all job finished (on-site, solid wood) floors. Bona Kemi Traffic is bar none the
best finish available. It wears the best, looks the best and has never failed us. The finish is environmentally friendly; it is
the safest product for the applicator and the inhabitants. Traffic is a two part catalyzed finish, when the hardener is added, a
chemical reaction takes place and the end result is a finish like no other -
durability and a
great looking finish.
As we are aware that each job is different in circumstances, we also offer an
economical alternative to the aforementioned
Bona-Kemi Traffic finish. The process is very similar – the work is completed by the same great, professional staff using the same high tech equipment however we use two coats of an oil modified urethane finish (also from Bona Kemi). This option involves only natural finishing (no staining) and does not involve the application of filler during the sanding/finishing process. In addition, The
Dust Containment System (DCS) is available at a reduced cost for this finish alternative due to the reduced sanding/finishing time.
Bona Kemi Traffic finish is available in Satin or Semi-Gloss. We recommend Satin as it helps to mask dust and dirt on your wood
floor.
Below is a Taber Abrasion Test Report. The Taber Test is an operation that tests the number of revolutions before an abrasive wears
through a finish.
